As for Windows XP and Vista, our printer drivers will probably still work. However, since Microsoft has discontinued support for XP and Vista

The native print resolution is 1200 dpi. All printers can print up to 1200 x 4800 dpi, although 1200 x 1200 and 1200 x 2400 settings are usually preferred because they print faster.

Yes, they come with a basic design program for Windows, Nicelabel. This allows you to import images, logos, etc. and add things like barcodes. You can also design your labels in a complete design program, save them as high-resolution .jpg, .tiff, .bmp, .png or .pdf files and use our software to arrange and print them on your label material. You can also print directly from your own graphic design program, such as Adobe® Illustrator®, provided that software allows you to adjust the page size to match the size of your labels.
For Mac, we have not included any software, as most Mac users prefer to print directly from programs such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. If you are not a designer, an easy-to-use software package we recommend for Mac is the Label LIVE software. You can download a free trial version here.

Yes. The LX610 comes with Primera's PTCreate Standard software for Windows. PTCreate Standard lets you import images and cut a variety of label shapes. PTCreate Pro is available for an additional charge and works on both Mac and PC. PTCreate Pro allows you to print and cut contour shapes. All other Primera inkjet desktop label printers come with Windows software called Nicelabel. It is an easy-to-use, very useful tool that helps you layout and then print your designs on the correct label formats.

Yes, for Windows users, they come with Nicelabel software, which includes virtually every type of barcode used in business and industry worldwide, including 2D barcodes. The LX610 does not include this software, but you can download Bartender for free from their website.

We hesitate to use the word "water resistant," but several of our label substrates, when printed with pigment inks on LX600, LX610, LX910 and LX3000, are highly water resistant. We do not recommend LX500/RX500 for labels exposed to water. The black of the LX500/RX500 is made by mixing cyan, magenta and yellow. This much ink saturation can cause smudging if it gets wet, no matter what label material you use.
It is important to choose the right substrate for your specific application. This is especially true for water resistance. Before ordering a large quantity of blank labels, try out some printed labels on your products in the environment in which they will be used. In general, we recommend a synthetic substrate for damp or wet environments. Vinyl, BOPP and polyester labels are ideal.

All inks, both dye and pigment inks, begin to fade over time. Dye inks are generally recommended for indoor use on products consumed in less than a year. If dye inks are exposed daily to direct sunlight or bright indoor light, they may begin to fade after several months. Dye inks deliver the best range of bright, vibrant colors, so they are usually preferred over pigment inks for products applied to food, wine and other consumable products. Pigment inks have superior UV resistance. Primera's pigment inks have been tested outdoors for over a year with little noticeable fading. Pigment inks are typically chosen when a life of many years indoors or up to two years outdoors is required with little color fading. Labels printed with pigment ink will be slightly less vibrant and therefore are usually chosen for more industrial projects such as GHS labels, tags, photo ID badges, trash can labels and more.

Continuous label material for the LX610 (used for digital die-cutting) is chipped and cannot be purchased everywhere. Otherwise, any inkjet-coated label material may be used for pre-punched labels. The labels need only be coated for aqueous inkjet printing. Of course, Tasco only guarantees Consistent quality results when using our material. We have done extensive research and continue to research the best material at the lowest price.

Maintenance of your device

This device is strongly built and also uses a 2in1 principle. Thus, the only consumable is its ink cartridge which includes a print head. When this cartridge is consumed, you immediately replace the print head. So you have at all times a printhead of high quality. Are the nozzles of the printhead clogged yet ka now this easily back open. Just follow the video in the "Support videos" tab.

If you need other support, you can always contact our technical department. Please contact us via our contact page.

Storage and shelf life of your consumables

Just like food, you will find a date on the packaging of ink cartridges and toners.

What does the date on a cartridge mean? Can you still use it?

With a packet of ham or any other food product, do watch out to eat it after the expiration date. The product may well be bad and harmful to your health. But this is not true of the date on a cartridge. The date on a cartridge is normally just the production date or usually the date until which the manufacturer's warranty runs. After this date, the manufacturer no longer guarantees the quality, but that doesn't mean that product won't work. If you leave your new cell phone unused in a drawer for 2 years, the chance that it will suffer afterwards is also very small. With cartridges it is the seller who gives you a warranty based on the date of sale and not the date of production. So you don't have to worry about the warranty date on your cartridges.

Shelf Life of Ink Cartridges

Of course, that doesn't mean that printer cartridges can't become unusable over time. But that has mostly to do with how they are stored.

Ink cartridges contain liquid ink. The ink dries very quickly when it comes into contact with air. That's the idea when printing, of course. The cartridges are designed so that no air can get to the ink. Only when printing will the ink come out of the cartridge. But nothing is 100% tight of course, you can't store a cartridge for centuries either. If the cartridges lie idle for a long time or are stored in the wrong conditions, the ink may solidify or even dry up.

Therefore, we recommend that you store the inkjet cartridges in a cool and dry environment. Make sure that you do not remove the cartridges from their airtight packaging until you actually start using them. Also very important is how you place them in the cabinet or rack for storage. Each cartridge has a specific top and bottom. Only if you are stored correctly will they continue to work properly. Therefore, be sure to read the manufacturer's instructions or contact our supplies department if in doubt.

Once your cartridge is in the printer it can certainly dry out. Fortunately, the current generations of printers ensure that the ink does not dry up. They do this by starting a 'cleaning program' every now and then. Of course, this is only possible when cartridges are installed in the printer and the printer is connected to mains power. So make sure you don't disconnect your printer from power to ensure the longest possible life for your cartridges.

Inkt cartridges bevatten vloeibare inkt.
